  • Coronary artery disease (stenotic atherosclerosis)

1. Diagnosis established based on:

  • complaints (angina — chest pain or pain equivalent during physical exertion, resolving after brief rest or nitroglycerin);
  • known atherosclerosis risk factors;
  • physical examination;
  • ECG changes.

2. Tests used to confirm ischemia and determine the degree of coronary damage risk. Test selection depends on the pretest probability of angina and the patient's ability to perform exercise tests:

  • exercise ECG;
  • pharmacological stress tests (echocardiographic or magnetic resonance);
  • coronary CT angiography;
  • myocardial perfusion scanning;
  • exercise echocardiography;
  • cardiac magnetic resonance imaging

3. Evaluation of test results
